History of the makers of this Military Video Footage

Before creating Military Video Footage, Chris and John worked as Producers in various video production studios. In 1996 John Farr started Creative Media Group, Inc. (CMG). His video production studio quickly grew into a successful production house that serviced the needs of many large organizations. These include: NovellAdobeMicrosoftSony Pictures, as well as broadcasting networks like BBCPBSCTVCNBCDisney, and FOX.

In 2005, Chris Dortch started a video production company called HQ Media, LLC. This company focused primarily on motion graphic design for television broadcast and compositing for feature films.

For a decade both companies created digital assets including Military Video Footage for stock video distribution and both companies provided video to GettyCorbisBBCDiscoveryA&ESony, and directly to film-makers, ad-agencies, non-profit organizations, and production companies.

Eventually, John and Chris merged the two video production companies into CMG and created Stock Footage, Inc. to manage and distribute their digital assets including this Military Video Footage.

Between 2010 and 2012 they built a team of talented cinematographers, colorists, and vfx artists to shoot stock footage in some of the most incredible places around the world. They shot extensively in Israel, Kenya, Nepal (Mount Everest), Venice, Rome, Dubai, London, Vancouver, New York, Alaska, Detroit, Dallas, Montana, California, Nevada, and Utah. They shot stock footage in 90 national parks, and in 2011 spent several weeks with the US military special forces in which they obtained special permission to shoot high-speed footage of c4 explosions, machine guns, operating shots from within a Chinook, a black-hawk helicopter, and several other military vehicles. On one of their trips to Israel they received rare permission to shoot alone inside the heart of the Holy Sepulchre, The Aedicule, one of the most sacred places on earth to both Christians and Muslims. This unique library of high quality stock footage will bring particular interest to those working on documentaries or feature films.
